Description
One Pot Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta ready in 30 minutes with smoky sausage, tender pasta, creamy Cajun sauce, and bold spices.
Ingredients
10 ounces smoked sausage (Andouille or kielbasa)
4 ounces pasta (penne or rigatoni)
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup diced bell peppers (mixed colors)
½ cup diced onion
2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 cup fresh spinach (optional)
Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Slice the smoked sausage into thin rounds.
2. Chop bell peppers and onions.
3. Measure out Cajun seasoning, heavy cream, and cheese.
4. Heat olive oil and sauté sausage until browned.
5. Remove sausage and cook peppers and onions.
6. Add Cajun seasoning to veggies.
7. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
8. Add pasta and cook until al dente.
9. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and cheese.
10. Return sausage to the pot and mix well.
11. Taste and adjust with salt, pepper, or cayenne.
12. Garnish with parsley or Parmesan before serving.
Notes
Add extra broth if pasta absorbs quickly.
Use less Cajun seasoning for milder heat.
Stir in spinach during the last few minutes.
