Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Juice from 1 lemon
Instructions
- Preheat the griddle to medium high heat around 375 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Melt one tablespoon of butter on the griddle.
- Place shrimp in a single layer on the hot griddle and cook for two to three minutes.
- Flip the shrimp and cook another two to three minutes until pink and lightly curled.
- Move shrimp slightly aside and add remaining butter to the center of the griddle.
- Add minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to the melted butter and cook briefly until fragrant.
- Toss shrimp in the garlic butter mixture so each piece becomes evenly coated.
- Cook for one more minute, remove from the griddle, and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp before serving.
Notes
- Pat shrimp dry before cooking so they sear instead of steam.
- Do not overcook shrimp because they can quickly become rubbery.
- Add garlic during the final minute to avoid burning and bitterness.
