Description

Easy homemade Butter Pie Crust made with four simple ingredients. Flaky, buttery, and perfect for sweet or savory pies.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 to 10 tablespoons ice water

Instructions

  1. Pulse butter, flour, and salt until coarse and crumbly.
  2. Add ice water one tablespoon at a time until dough forms large clumps.
  3. Transfer dough to a work surface and divide into two portions.
  4. Shape each portion into a disk and chill for at least 1 hour.
  5. Roll dough on a lightly floured surface.
  6. Transfer to a pie plate and shape edges.
  7. Bake according to your pie recipe or prebake if desired.
