Burger Dinner Foil Packets are a cheesy, all-in-one meal featuring juicy beef patties, seasoned vegetables, and melty Colby Jack cheese—wrapped in foil for easy baking, grilling, or campfire cooking. Perfect for busy weeknights or outdoor adventures.
Ingredients

2 lb (900g) lean ground beef

1 packet dried onion soup mix

1½ lb (680g) baby gold potatoes, quartered

12 oz (340g) frozen crinkle-cut carrots

1 medium red onion, diced

1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil

1 tsp (3g) garlic powder

1 tsp (5g) kosher salt

½ tsp (1g) black pepper

½ tsp (1g) smoked paprika

6 slices Colby Jack cheese
Instructions

Preheat Oven: Set to 350°F (175°C).

Make Patties: Mix ground beef and onion soup mix in a bowl. Form into 6 patties.

Prepare Vegetables: In a separate bowl, toss potatoes, carrots, and red onion with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.

Assemble Foil Packets: Place ⅙ of the vegetable mix on each greased 12″x18″ foil sheet. Top with a patty. Seal into pouches.

Bake: Place packets on a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes until patties reach 160°F (71°C) and veggies are tender.

Add Cheese: Open packets, place a cheese slice on each patty, and loosely cover for 5 minutes to melt. Serve in foil.
Notes
Cut potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.
Can also be cooked on a grill (45 minutes) or campfire (30–40 minutes).
Substitute cheese with cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite.
Heavy-duty foil prevents tearing, especially for outdoor cooking.
