Description

Fresh peach halves filled with a buttery brown sugar, cinnamon, oat, and pecan streusel, then baked or air-fried until tender and golden. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large or 3 medium ripe-firm peaches, halved and pitted
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons chopped pecans, optional
  • 1/4 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F and lightly butter a baking dish large enough to hold the peach halves. For an air fryer, skip this step unless the model requires preheating.
  2. Use a melon baller or small spoon to remove a little flesh from the center of each peach half, leaving enough fruit around the edges to keep each half sturdy.
  3. Stir together the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, salt, pecans, and oats in a medium bowl.
  4. Add the chilled butter and rub it into the dry ingredients with your fingertips until the mixture forms coarse, pea-sized crumbs.
  5. Divide the streusel among the peach halves and gently press it into each cavity.
  6. For the oven method, arrange the peaches cut side up in the baking dish and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until the topping turns golden and the fruit feels tender but still holds its shape.
  7. For the air fryer method, arrange the peaches cut side up in the basket and cook at 350°F for 5 to 15 minutes, checking after 5 minutes.
  8. Cool the peaches for 5 to 10 minutes, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  1. Choose peaches that feel ripe but still firm so they hold their shape while cooking.
  2. Toast the pecans before mixing the streusel for a deeper nutty flavor.
  3. Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  4. Reheat in a 325°F oven for 10 to 15 minutes or in an air fryer at 320°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. Nutrition does not include vanilla ice cream.
