Description

Blackstone pizza cooked on an outdoor griddle with crispy crust, melted mozzarella, and customizable toppings for a quick homemade pizza night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough homemade or store bought
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 14 ounces pizza sauce warmed
  • 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning optional
  • Red bell peppers
  • Onion
  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Cooked sausage
  • Pepperoni
  • Black olives
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Blackstone griddle to low heat and bring the surface temperature to about 450 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prepare the pizza dough and shape it into a 12 inch round crust that fits under the melting dome.
  3. Drizzle olive oil on both sides of the dough and sprinkle Italian seasoning on the top side. If using raw dough poke small holes in the surface.
  4. Sauté vegetables on the griddle with olive oil for about 3 to 5 minutes until tender then remove and keep warm.
  5. Place the pizza dough seasoning side down on the hot griddle and cook for about 2 minutes until lightly browned.
  6. Flip the dough and cook the second side until golden brown.
  7. Spread a thin layer of warmed pizza sauce over the cooked side of the crust.
  8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly across the sauce.
  9. Add your preferred toppings such as pepperoni vegetables or sausage.
  10. Cover the pizza with a melting dome or griddle lid until the cheese melts completely.
  11. Remove the pizza from the griddle slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Use gluten free pizza dough or a pre baked crust for a gluten free version.
  2. For a quick dinner use pita bread or naan as the crust and cook the same way on the griddle.
  3. Let kids build their own pizza by preparing small bowls of toppings.
