Description

These Air Fryer Fried Pickles are a crispy, tangy snack made healthier by using an air fryer. They’re perfect for parties, snacks, or appetizers, offering the same delicious crunch as deep-fried pickles but with less oil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 jar of dill pickle slices (about 16 ounces)

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tablespoon milk

  • Cooking spray or olive oil for frying

  • Optional dips: Ranch dressing, spicy mayo, remoulade sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Pat the pickle slices dry using paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  3. Set up a breading station with three bowls:

    • Bowl 1: Mix flour with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

    • Bowl 2: Whisk together egg and milk.

    • Bowl 3: Place panko breadcrumbs.

  4. Dredge each pickle slice in the flour mixture, dip it in the egg wash, and coat it with panko breadcrumbs.

  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the breaded pickles in a single layer.

  6. Air fry at 400°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.

  7. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

To make this recipe vegan, substitute the egg with a flaxseed or chia egg and use plant-based milk.

For gluten-free pickles, substitute breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour with a gluten-free blend or chickpea flour.

For a lighter version, you can reduce the amount of breadcrumbs and use minimal oil.
